Update on King Alfred's Court

Community Engagement Events

During last November the Directors spent time researching and recruiting a firm of Architects to design the redevelopment at King Alfred’s Court to transform it from being a former Police Station and House into Pewsey’s first community owned affordable housing.

So the very good news is that after a competitive fee tender and interview of four shortlisted practices, One50Studio Architects, a RIBA Chartered Practice based in Bristol, has been appointed to design proposals for our new homes.

On 17th January 2023, the first Community Engagement event was held in the Wesley Hall in Goddard Road to invite contributions from the residents and workforce in Pewsey.  Presentation boards were shown to illustrate and inform the purpose of a Community Land Trust (CLT) and the constraints of the site that we are acquiring from Wiltshire Police.  The event generated some very good feedback with thoughtful and informative comments for the Architects.

The only missing component was a younger generation able to contribute to the process – the age group that will be the most likely beneficiaries of the future housing – those aged 20 - 45 years.

If you missed Tuesday's event and wish to contribute now, then have a look at the boards presented and complete a Feedback form and return that to 8 Market Place

We need your input to be sure that we are meeting your needs and hopes for the future.

The next event will be held in the Bouverie Hall at 6.30pm on Thursday 2nd February 2023.

One50Studio will present their initial design thoughts based on the previous responses and comments, but will be hoping to hear much more from a wider range of potential occupiers, so do please find the time to come along and contribute to the future of the village…
