The planning application for 8 Market Place, Pewsey is still progressing, albeit much slower than we would wish, due to a number of variables out of the control of the CLT, that are being addressed. At the time of writing, we are hopeful of resolution by June. All those involved are still working hard to bring this concept to fruition. It cannot be understated the amount of time and effort that has been gifted by those involved so far. The vision of a new village centre development that is well built, energy efficient and that provides “affordable” rented property for a number of local people who have family connections to Pewsey or, work in the locality, is still the vision. So too is the fact that the property will belong to the community in perpetuity, the reason for the CLT to undertake this mammoth task and its reason for being. It has to be admitted that the development also has to pay for itself long term to be sustainable. You can find out much more about the CLT and its mission by touring this website or attending the AGM. At this point it would be a tragedy to find a housing developer taking on the site after so much effort.
The Directors would like to invite you to attend the Pewsey CLT AGM. This will be on Thursday June 6th at 6-30 pm at St John’s Church, 20 Church St, Pewsey SN9 5DL.
